Next, I will conclude the content of our presentation.
First is Sentence elements. Simple sentences usually have five element, include subject, object,
complement and adverbial. There two kind of object: indirect object and direct object, two kind of
complement: subject complement and object complement and two kind of abverbial which are Adjunct
adverbial, Disjunct adverbial and Conjunct adverbial.
There are 7 basic pattern of simple sentences, they are: Subject and verb; Subject, verb and
object; Subject, verb, direct object and indirect object; Subject, verb and adverbial
– Subject, verb, object and adverbial
– Subject, verb and complement
– Subject, verb, object and complement
Now I will conclude our finding about Application of simple sentences in Fable Stories and give
some explaination for them:
First, we found out that simple sentences is only acount for 26.2% in 30 fable stories, quite small
numbers compare to others kind of sentences. We came up to the conclusion that may be Fable Story
need more complex sentences to tell a story that can contain special moral meaning that aim to all ages.
Second, acording to the figures, four sentence patterns S-V-O, S-V-O-O, S-V-O-A AND S-V-C was
found to be use the most in 30 fables stories, with the percantage of 27%, 21, 18, 17 respectively. So we
think that may be In Fables stories, using four basic patterns of simple sentences above may be a key to
make a better story.
