Chapter 1: Apple and Google
1. In my opinion the relationship between Apple and Google is a situation of capitalism
because the companies are trying to enforce the decision that will lead them to the best
outcome when it comes to their profit. I see it as a competition although, not so friendly,
since these two companies are some of the greatest and well known.
Competition is very common in the United States, without it there would be no necessity
to improve a product or service or to strive to have the best price and attract more clients.
Without competition there would be monopolies and consumers would have no other
option than to buy the product by the only company offering it.
2. The competition between Apple and Google is really big since their name is well known
and therefore trustworthy of their clients. On the other hand, I do not think Apple will
dump Google as their default search engine only because Google is the leading search
engine. If they do decide to do it, they would have to look for another search engine like
Bing, or Yahoo.
I’m not aware if they would have to end a contract if Apple wants to get rid of Google as
its default search engine. If they do want to end it earlier it might be that they would have
to pay a penalty. Then they would go about deciding which search engine would replace as
their default in their devices.
3. The consumers are the ones that will receive and experience all the benefits of this
