The Giant Apple, Inc.
In this section, I will be discussing Apple’s history of how it came to be along with other
information. Some of the other items that will be mentioned will be their structure and how it
works. I will also be mentioning their strategy as well as how their supply chain pattern is and
how it performs, as well as any issues within it.
Organizational Profile
This section is going to touch on the basic profile of Apple. I will be discussing who they
are with a little background and what they produce. We will also look into their business strategy
and structure and how that is set up.
Profile of the Organization
Apple, Inc. who are they? What is their background and what is their supply chain like?
How do they operate? What makes them succeed?
Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded Apple on April 1, 1976. Their vision was to
change the way people thought of computers and to change the design to be just right to where
the people could use them in their everyday lives. Times were changing and so was technology
so they wanted to make something that was more user-friendly and geared to easing the daily life
of the consumer. Apple 1 was created in their garage with the first ever color graphics and in
1980 Apple decided to go public.

Jobs left in 1985 for better ventures while Apple’s sales were through the roof due to
consumer interest. Wozniak left the Apple Company and went on to purchase Pixar and create
NeXT software while the sales and profits from Apple continued to soar through the 1990’s. As
the decades went by, things were ever changing. The profits for Apple started to fall due to an
outdated operating system.
Apple then requested Jobs to come back as a CEO, he accepted and then merged with
Microsoft to form the Mac software. Jobs then took the company towards other ventures such as
the iPod (mp3 player), iBook (laptop), and iTunes (media software player). While the computers
