As you may know, the Iphone for apple has brought almost 7.7 billion dollars of profit to the Iphone, but
the ipad hasn’t really gained as much solid attraction in today’s market. The iPad was very, very popular
in its first 3 editions but like for the IOS software’s they were all the same until the Ipad air came out. The
ipad air came out this year. And believe it or not the sales of the ipad air were 13.2 million ipads this year
and last year with the Ipad 4 the sales were 14.6 million ipads. And like the IOS software the new Iphones
I thought the sales would be better but they weren’t. And that is why I firmly believe that it is nearly
impossible to predict or to foretell the future of the economy because the behavior of the consumers is
very unpredictable and that is what constitutes the market system and eventually the economy. The new
Ipad coming out along with the new Iphone on the 9th of September may reach maximum sale or be left
in the same off-white boxes in the store lasting until new year. I think there is a lot of curiosity because if
a few people buy the ipads and don’t like them they will tell others not to buy. But if on the other hand
those people do like it then the effect is a chain reaction which will create huge sales for Apple. It could
go either really well or well under the lowest standards of apple, but then again as an economist I’m
blindly making this assumption.
