In The Great Gatsby,
Gatsby loves Daisy who already has a husband but is still willing to
do whatever it takes to get close to her even if it consisted of getting rich. He and Daisy can no
longer hide their love as they stare into each other’s eyes passionately, and talk about wanting to
leave into the city in Toms presence; He realizes that they have a thing for each other. Both the
novel and The Police’s song “Every Breath You Take” depicts the willingness of doing anything
for the one they love knowing many conflicts will occur. In the novel, the narrator which is Nick
Carraway expresses how Gatsby feels and how he sacrifices much to have Daisy by his side.
