The ritual of Christianity to be closest to God is to participate in the baptism. The
practice of Christian baptism is almost the same as the purification practice in the Jewish
religion. This practice is a done by being put under water by the religious leader of the
church or facility. The actual actions of being baptized can only be performed once in the
life of the person.
John the Baptist is the frontrunner or the original of practicing this sacrament. The
followers of Christ believe that he originally sets up this practice, but the scholars believe
that he did not plan on the practice to continue as long as it has. The earliest were
documented as being completely immersed under the water. The small children and
babies that were put into this practice were usually just sprinkled by water, holy water or
cleansed water, though the practice of immersion
