Beginning in 1999 a cartel was formed by 11 power cable giants: ABB, Nexans,
Prysmian, J-Power Systems, VISCAS, EXSYM, Brugg, NKT, Silec, LS Cable, and Taihan.
Power cables are cables that are laid underground or under water and are used to transmit and
distribute electricity. The electricity they conduct connects power grids and enable the shipping
of excess electricity between countries. These companies were found guilty of participating in
