Anthropology is a vast field including four subfields consisting of physical anthropology,
archaeology, linguistic anthropology, and cultural anthropology. The former entails all physical
aspects of humankind including variability and evolutionary change. Archaeology deals with
human culture from the past. To study this subfield, material remains like architecture and
cultural artifacts can be observed. Other objects, like bones, need to be modified by humans in
order for archaeologists to examine them. In contrast, linguistic anthropology is centered on the
study of language and how language relates with and shapes culture. The fourth subfield, cultural
anthropology, deals with human culture in the present time. Both explicit (knowledge that can be
