Religion has always played a huge role in the United States, the country was basically founded
around it. With that being said, after pondering the question of what would happen if a candidate said
they were atheist, I think it would cause outrage. Although there are different candidates that belong to
separate parties and have opposite supporters, a majority of our country follows some type of religion.
Whether it be Christian, Muslim, Catholic, or Jewish it can be found within most communities in the
United States. We are a country that has proved to pride itself on tradition, and a common one is
electing a candidate who belongs to some organized religion.
Although there are so many religious views in the United States, the President normally belongs
to a sector of Christian faith. With that being said, I think that the announcement of an atheist candidate
would reflect the voter’s decisions. The religious views of the opposing candidate would have an impact
