To further the research of the Biographical criticism of Langston Hughes for Ms. Cooke’s
English class, an annotated bibliography of Langston Hughes must to be done first. The
purpose of the annotation is to provide the audience with a summary or an evaluation of
the sources that will be used in the research of the Biographical criticism of Langston
Hughes. To further research on way Langston Hughes overcame segregation and the lack
of resources for education to become a successful writer, sources that will be used in the
research come from the internet and the library; one source from the internet and four
sources from the library.

of poetry and fiction talk about what they do. In Ms. Cooke’s English class, she uses it as a
guide for us, her students, in many ways to read, think, write and understand literature into
a deeper prospective. The purpose of using this source is to get a full understanding of
Langston Hughes’ background and how he came up as an African American poet. This
anthology is aimed at a broad audience, whether it is teaching students to understand
literature or if it is reminding professors how literature functions and why it is so important
to us.
