Ancient Chinese Contribution
Introduction
Over the previous few centuries the Chinese people have discovered a significant number
of inventions across a variety of different fields, including mechanical advances in technology
and mathematical theories which helped to simplify the ancient world, and which also make our
lives easier today. This essay in hopes of winning the trip to China has been written to examine
some of the most prominent of the Chinese discoveries and contributions to modern society, and
to illustrate how the world in which we live has been affected by these contributions to science,
mechanics and mathematics. This essay will seek to identify between eight and ten of these main
contributions which were discovered by the ancient Chinese culture, and which affect the
modern world. Four of the inventions I have chosen will be examined in greater detail in order
