GEOGRAPHIC INFLUENCES
England is made up of about 65% of the island of the island of Great Britain as well as the Isle of
Wight and the Isles of Scilly. Scotland borders England to the north and Wales to the west. The
Irish Sea, Atlantic Ocean, and North Sea surround England, granting the country ample
coastline. This is one of the reasons the region is so popular with locals and tourists, and why it
has such an excellent transport system. England is not a huge country, covering approximately
50,356 square miles and a population of just fewer than 60 million people.
England truly is a beautiful country. Being divided into to two zones, the Highland zone and the
Lowland zone, England has a very diverse topography. In the Highlands, you see more of your
