Business ethics comprises principles and standards that guide behavior in the world
of business. The concept of business ethics evolved over the course of events with the current
trend focusing on making ethics a part of core organizational values as cultural initiatives.
Ethical culture became part of corporate culture which captures the rules and principles that
an organization defines as appropriate conduct. It can be viewed as the character or decision
making process that employees use to determine whether their responses to ethical issues are
right or wrong. Studies suggest that maintaining an ethical reputation in business both
internally and externally provides in positive results in terms of publicity and performance.
