Positive Views in Jonah Hex
Jonah Hex may have been viewed as violent by the characters in the stories, but they
did not see the many instances that Hex was soft and kind hearted. In the first story, “Welcome
to Paradise,” readers got to see something that characters did not, Jonah’s weakness for
children. At first, he acted like he despised the young boy, but when the boy needed Jonah’s
help saving his mother, he took care of the situation. Jonah even carried the boy’s mother
