Contrasting of Absolute Truths
The play, An Enemy of the People, by Henrik Ibsen the different perspectives
of truth are explored, while focusing in on how the different characters interpret the
idea of absolute truth. With each character being driven by a contrasting truth
conflict soon rises when it comes to the truths about the baths. The Mayor, Peter
Stockmann, being motivated by greed and money he suppresses the absolute truth
