American Family
For a long time, many people around the world who live in underdeveloped countries have seen
the United States as a great country that offers many opportunities to improve economically and
give a decent life to their family. With that idea, people from different countries and cultures
have emigrated to America and started a family.
Nowadays, different types of family live in America and most of them have a comfortable life.
This is because the country has a strong economy and a well-regulated policy regarding the
minimum living conditions that each person living in the United States must have. So, the typical
American family can be said to live in good condition with their basic needs met.
I only have two references to compare whether the typical American family is happy or not. The
first is from what I have seen on television, and from what I have seen in different documental,
movies or television series is that the typical American family is happy. Usually, this family is made
up of two parents with children and a pet, they live in a nice house with a large yard where the
children can play.
The second is from what I have seen since I came to the United States. I have only about three
months in this country, but I have seen many different families. In this country there are all kinds
of families, there is the typical family that I have seen on television (made up of the father, the
mother and the children), but there are also families made up of two parents of the same sex,
families made up only of one parent with children, and couples who do not have children but still
form a family.
Most of these families seem happy to me, but I have also noticed that this is not always the case.
Due to work, most parents do not spend a lot of time with their children and unfortunately this
absence can cause a lot of problems with children in adolescence.
