Amedeus Assignment
I believe the central conflict in Amedeus is Salieri against nature which in this case, is
portrayed as God. The difficulties that Salieri finds as his life progresses revolve around the main
idea that all of the situations and hardships that he faced were destined. This central conflict rises
towards Salieri and causes him to create disdain against others; the two other conflicts that are
seen throughout the film. Nevertheless, the conflict that persists and is a key factor in Salieri’s
mental state is him against God.
