Wildfires and Deforestation
In 2019, wildfires devastated the jungles of Brazil, Bolivia, and Paraguay. The causes of these fires
are because farmers of central Brazil cut down millions of trees in this zone and burn what remains
to get more land for their agricultural, mining, or ranching businesses.
Deforestation has become more popular every year, but with the new government in Brazil that
doesn’t care much about climate change and environmental problems and his advocate of coal
mining, this has become gigantic, causing various fires in different parts of the amazon.
What is new for me is that how a person that has the power of an entire country and pretty much
controls one of the biggest rainforests in the entire world had admitted that the wildfires were
provoked and that he did not meet the environmental laws.
Climate change plays a big role in wildfires because I feel that if that nature was like 100 years
ago or even 50 would be easier to control wildfires and they won’t be uncontrollable like this one
was, because it lasts for over a month and most of the fauna and flora was affected.
Of course, wildfires are occurring more frequently than in past years, because now society is more
focus in ways to bring money home or how they can get more money and if is necessary go against
mother nature to become millionaires they will do it or at least that was the case in Brazil. A long
time ago people used to have more respect for mother nature in some cultures they even adore it
and whenever they will take advantage they will ask mother nature for permission, nowadays some
don’t even have respect for their selves.
The President of Brazil has been the focus so much in coal mining because it brings money to the
country that he didn’t realize the damage that he was causing until it got uncontrollable and it got
bigger passing to other countries.
