Amadeusis a 1984 Americanperiod dramafilm directed byMiloš Formanis about the genius
talented young composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his envy Salieri (last name)who
tries to grab his unique talent and skill util Mozart’s last breath of death. Salieri the King’s
concert master who was financially successful figured out the Mozart’s weaknesses and
planned Mozart’s death due to jealousy of Mozart’s natural skill and talent. He was furious
with God because he gave his ability to Mozart youthful, adolescent without giving him.
The use of music and performance in the film are amazing because it is the music of
Mozart. Also the producer has selected quality music though out the movie. It goes beyond
my expectations due to different music styles, rhythms, dynamics, tones colors and forms.
There are different reactions where music is performed and different transitions of music
to different scenes, For example when Mozart is performing one of his favorite pieces and
when it is at the climax, the camera turns to Salieri hidden in his balcony suite. The
producer has been able to successful in showing the anger of Salieri through the use of
music. As we have learned in the class we can feel how the anger drives through body by
the different variations of lowness to highness on dynamics and pitches used in the movie
for different reactions in different characters.
