Alternative Fuels
Throughout the world, liquid fuel supply averages around 4,000 Megatons (MT) per year. 400
MTs of that per year is made from the marine industry. Due to this substantial amount, the International
Maritime Organization (IMO) and national environmental agencies, has put into place many rules and
regulations to protect our oceans. Many Organizations are now looking into Alternative fuels and some
companies are currently putting these alternatives into action.
A substantial amount of fuel utilized is of the low price low quality type, also known as heavy
