The contemporary world is an ever-changing mix of social, political, and cultural
changes. As the humanity continues to develop, there will always be a fundamental change in the
way one thinks. Humankind will continuously be seeking to better itself in knowledge and
stature. As we seen in history, religion has had dealt with changing cultural realities. In some
cases, for example; the High Middle Ages Christianity was the dominant influence in
constructing society(WIC, pg. 441). On the contrary, there were periods where Christianity was
not a significant influence on the development of society. For example, the Enlightenment era,
an era of an intellectual and philosophical movement which dominated the world of ideas in
Europe. The Enlightenment era questioned the entire Bible. The Roman Catholic lost some of
their followers because little change was done under the Council of Trent; until Pope Pius IX
created Vatican Council II. Even though, Vatican Council II brought change there wasn’t enough
