Affirmative action is a policy or a program in which a person’s race, sex, region, and national
origin are taken into account to enhance the opportunities for the specific individuals or specific
society. The government supported affirmative programs are started to reduce the discrimination
against the specific person, race, sex, and national origin. The main purpose of affirmative
programs is to provide equal opportunities of all discriminated people in business, employment,
education. In United States, the first affirmative action was signed by the president John F.
Kandy in 1961. This affirmative action become law and it required that it was necessary for all
contractors to not discriminate against any employee or applicant regarding race, color, national,
or sex. In real way, affirmative action gained the legal right when civil rights act passes in 1964
which prohibit all type of discrimination like in public education, firms, voting, and
accommodations.
