The “Adults Are Useless” trope is an interesting one. It’s essentially the idea that the adults in
said show are not capable of seemingly simple or mundane activities, either because the adults are
stupid, incompetent, or have some other flaw that is overly exaggerated. It is used as a comedic tool
because naturally kids see adults as an authority figure. This is a bit of a double edged sword. On the one
hand, if used correctly, it can teach kids that adults won’t always be able to help them out, and they
