Adolescence is a period of time that all people go through. It is a period that takes place
between the onset of puberty, and emerging adulthood. This phase of life presents many changes
biologically, as well as transitions in one’s social roles. Today, our view of adolescents has taken
on a much different role than it has in the past. Factors that influence our development are
heavily influenced by our environments, which is why the view of adolescence shifts so much
depending on the historical era in which it took place. The economic and social changes that
