Question 1
Reciprocal socialization is a bidirectional socialization process whereby children
socialize with their parents in the same way their parents socialize with the children.
Markedly, adolescents and parent play a mutual role in influencing the parental role. The
actions and behaviours of the adolescents play a significant role in influencing the manner in
which the parents respond to such actions. Similarly, the parenting approach plays a
significant role in influencing the behaviours of adolescents.

There are four types of parenting styles which include; authoritarian or disciplinarian,
permissive, uninvolved and authoritative. Authoritarian parenting style uses a strict discipline
