According to our text, what can we say causes addiction and dependency? (Clinton and Scalise,
2013) State that there are 8 different models that contribute. The disease model in which place
people in a category to differentiate the ones who are addicted and the ones who are not. The
genetic model, which will focus on the difference in the genetic and physiological process to
explain addiction. 40-60 percent of a person’s risk for alcohol is genetic. The biological focus
explains how the brain sensitivity can have an effect on drug use. (Clinton and Scalise,
2013)The choice model, which talks about how a person has things in their life that cause them
to have an addiction problem, but also states that a person has free choice to make on ones
