Mental health, the foundation for emotions, thinking, communication, learning,
resilience and self-esteem. It is the key to relationships, personal and emotional well-
being in contributing to society. Mental illness refers to a wide range of mental conditions,
disorders that affect your mood, thinking and behavior.
No one is spared from possibility of suffering from mental illness. Experts say that
the number of suicide cases and students with mental illnesses has risen drastically in
the last three years with at least one suicide referral made each day. However, in this
pandemic, there are number of cases who commits suicide because of this new normal.
Stress in online class and modular learning, depression, anxiety, trauma and many more.
Mental illness can affect anyone. Mental health can affect how we feel, think and
act. It is important as a stage of life so can cope with stressful situations, work
productively, and make meaningful contributions to our community. However the statistics
are staggering over 45% of teens suffer from mental disorder. One in five is suffering
from the severe mental illness that is 20% of our teen population.
