Since the beginning of storytelling, heroes have been at the center of epics and
adventures. Their sprawling tales are filled with clashing swords, distressing damsels, and
victory over evil. When considering what it is that makes a person a hero, one often thinks that a
hero is someone that is good and selfless, doing everything along his or her path to help those in
need. This is the case for many heroes in ancient literature, but certainly not for all. There are
plenty of heroes that are selfish and proud, who have no interest in fighting for a greater cause
