Course: ACG 2021C, Principles of Financial Accounting, 3 Credits, Full Term, Online.
Course Description: Accounting concepts, principles, procedures and underlying theories applicable to the
nature of accounting. Accounting for corporations including financial statements, accounting cycle, current
assets, plant and equipment, other long-term assets, current liabilities, long-term debt, and stockholders’
equity. Special Fee: $24
Pre-requisites: An assessment score for placement in MAT 0024C or higher mathematics or a minimum
grade of C in MAT 0012C or APA 1111C or MTB 1103
Course Outcomes: Upon completion of this course students should be able to:
1. Analyze business transactions using the accounting equation.
2. Record asset, liability, equity, revenue and expense transactions into a company’s accounting system.
3. Prepare the four financial statements in accordance with current accounting standards.
4. Complete all the steps in the accounting cycle.
5. Calculate the value of inventory using all four methodologies.
6. Analyze a company’s financial data in order to facilitate economic decision making.
7. Explain the importance of Ethics in the Accounting Industry.

List serves as a checklist. It is a schedule of every required assignment in the course and the
corresponding due dates. Make sure to follow the due dates very closely. Assignment due dates will not
be extended.
IMPORTANT COURSE POLICY REGARDING MISSED ASIGNMENTS: Missed assignments will NOT
be reopened. It would be unethical of the instructor to give a student extra time when their classmates
were all required to complete the assignment by the due date. Homework is open for an entire week.
