Congratulations! I am pleased to inform you of your acceptance as a member into SAP (Suicide
Awareness Program). As you may know, our nonprofit program has been around for over 50
years now and has helped save thousands of lives year round, but only accepts those who truly
demonstrate that they care as members. This program is one that I hold very close to heart, and
I am very glad that you now get to be a part of it.
SAP plays a role in our community by attending schools and giving seminars on the awareness
of suicide by giving students statistics of how many people a year commit suicide and helping
them understand that they are not alone and can get through this. We hold retreats once a
year for students for free in which the members of SAP along with certified psychologists and
counselors spend time with the students helping them with any troubles they might be going
through.
Members of SAP are required to attend the annual retreats as well as one of the seminars at
the schools per month. Members are also linked to the suicide hotline phone number that we
have available to those who may need it and members are expected to answer these phone
calls and be of assistance during specific shifts. Meetings are weekly on Thursdays from 6PM–
8PM, but you are only required to go to two meetings per month in order to be updated on the
monthly plans for SAP.
