1(a) Would you rather be hired for $1500 biweekly or $1500 semimonthly? Explain clearly
why.
Biweekly: $1500 / 2 = $750/40 = $18.75/hr – Regular Rate and Overtime – $28.13/hr
Semimonthly: $1500 x 24 = $36,000/52 = $692.31 per week(40 hrs) = $17.31/hr – Regular
Rate And Overtime – $25.97/hr
I would definitely take Biweekly just because it would mean I get paid at a higher rate
whether it be just a dollar and some cents. I would be making more money.
1(b) Calculate the regular and overtime rate in each situation above, assuming that
someone’s regular workweek is 37.5 hours (like a SC state government job).
