For my capstone project I decided to conduct a formal survey about the
alcohol policy at the University of Kentucky. When I was making my decision about
coming here last year I was told the school was going from a dry to a wet campus
and that simply hasn’t happened. The bill was presented and approved by the
committee and President Capilouto has had the bill on his desk for months; he just
hasn’t signed it for some unknown reason. I think this would significantly change
our campus and would help solve some problems. More upperclassmen would be
willing to live in the dorms, which would generate more revenue for the university.
Also alcohol would be permitted in Fraternity/Sorority houses. This would help the
Greek system fill their houses and also not have to try to hide and alcohol usage.
