Feminine Style refers to a communication style, primarily used by women. This style has
developed to be very personal, and inclusive and comes from a lack of rhetorical history for
example Grecian Philosopher Aristotle has been quoted quoting “Silence is a woman’s glory”
(Campbell, 1989). In addition, it has formed because of women attempting to “cope with the
conflicting demands of the podium.”
Dianna Cihak, founder of Women Elect, has instructed the women her organization
serves to use feminine style when delivering their ‘stump speeches.’ Having these anecdotes and
personal connection with audience helps the woman running for legislature succeed. This ties
