ABC Corporation: Relocating to Texas from North Carolina
ABC Corporation is doing quite well at its current location in Brunswick County, North
Carolina. With yearly sales reaching $8 million and quality workers, ABC Corporation is holding
up nicely. It is to no surprise that the corporation was offered a new location in Brownsville,
Texas. Relocation for the company would be a bold move and serious considerations would need
to be made beforehand. To begin with, the employees are one of the most important parts of the
corporation. They help bring in sales and are vital to the business. If ABC Corporation were to
relocate, will the current employees be able to relocate to Texas? If not, what kind of benefits
could they receive after losing their jobs? Secondly, the financial department of ABC
Corporation would be affected as well. North Carolina’s location does great in sales, as
mentioned previously, and we would hope that Texas will bring in as great or greater sales
numbers. Taxes vary from state to state, so how different are the taxes in Texas compared to
North Carolina and could they come as an issue to the corporation? Lastly, the business itself
could be at a loss or a win situation with following through with the relocation. How will the
business compare between Brunswick County and Brownsville? What if relocating completely
destroys the corporation, especially taking the previous considerations into mind? If this were to
occur, will ABC Corporation be able to recover or possibly relocate back to Brunswick County?
In order to decide on what is best for ABC Corporation as far as relocating, these factors of the
business need to be studied. By doing so, we can ensure that the best decision was made for ABC
Corporation’s employees, financial stand put, and the business itself.

As previously mentioned, employees are a large part of a company, especially here at ABC
Corporation. We would not have been able to reach such high sales numbers if it was not for our
qualified group of employees. So, by all means, we would hope our employees will be able to
transfer with us if we choose to follow through with Brownville’s offer. In order for us to
consider transferring employees, ABC Corporation needs to make sure their transfer policy is
specific and lists what every employee needs to know for a transfer. A transfer policy should
include: the conditions of the transfer, the rate of pay each employee will receive if they transfer,
how the transfers will be considered such as skills or seniority, and exact details of how
everything will occur (Employee Transfer). If ABC Corporation were to transfer to a new
location in Brownsville, we may lose 20 employees out of the current 200 we have. Due to new
state of the art technology, this will eliminate about 10% of our 200 employees in Brunswick
