1) Identify the objective details about the house. Then review the essay for the subjective
descriptions. Compare these objective and subjective details. How do they work together
and reinforce one another to support a dominant impression? Define in one sentence the
dominant impression conveyed through these descriptive details.
After comparing the objective and subjective details of the essay, the dominant impression I have
through these descriptive details are of a sad, depressing childhood the author experienced due to
the house not being the well taken care of.
