A Stranger in My House
When it comes to the study of neuroscience, Phineas Gage is by far the most famous
patient. Even trying to research other cases proved difficulty because his name kept popping up.
It is definitely extremely interesting reviewing a case in which someone went through such a
dramatic experience. One I am shocked that the incident did not kill him to begin with. And two
it’s surprising that he healed so well for the time period of the incident. If it happened today I
could totally understand it, but survival of this kind of injury in the late 1800’s is very
impressive. Sadly, the injury cause severe damage to his left frontal lobe which is the part of the
