A Social Workers Role with Abortion
Abortion is one of society’s most controversial issues in America today. According to the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) there has been a large decrease in abortions
from the years of 2006 to 2015. I chose to research this population mainly for the fact that
abortion is a topic that people need to be more educated and aware of. In this essay, my goal is to
educate and tie together social work and a social workers role with abortion.
Main Issues with Abortion
In society today, abortions are one of those things that are very looked down on. A huge
misconception about abortion is that the fetus experiences a large amount of pain during the
medical procedure. There are more types of abortion other than surgical abortions. There are also
medical abortions, which is a pill to help terminate the pregnancy. This pill must be taken in a
