This article is called “A Review of the effects of prenatal cocaine exposure among
school-aged children.” This article is written by three PhD scholars named John P.

The main focus of the article is school- aged children aged 6 years and older effects of
prenatal cocaine exposure. The three scholars look into children’s physical growth,
developmental test scores and their behavior. This is important to the community because
little is known about the long-term effects of prenatal cocaine exposure. Some of the
methods that were used to back up their article were selection criteria, data sources and
procedures. First in order to select who to survey they had couple criteria such as,
empirical research on children aged 6 years and older, comparison group, longitudinal
follow-up or historical prospective design, and masked assessment. To gather data sources
articles were obtained through many different websites, articles and experiments done by
other scholars. Finally for procedures eligible articles were reviewed independently by 2
authors to determine, domain assessed, sample composition, determination of prenatal
cocaine exposure, outcome variables and covariates, results and limitations.
As the result of the experiments this articles showed that there were no significant prenatal
cocaine exposure differences in weight and height. As for intellectual functioning and
academic achievement out of eight studies only one study showed that children with
prenatal cocaine exposure had significantly lower IQ scores based on standardized
