President Barack Obama, who was a senator and running for presidential nominee at the
time, gave a speech titled “A More Perfect Union.”. He stated in his speech that “we cannot solve
the challenges of our time unless we solve them together” (“A More Perfect Union”). The first
main point he addresses is the American history dealing with slavery. From there he goes on to
the problem with racism in our country and how it still exists. In fact, one of the biggest points
