Pink Floyd produced their eleventh album released on November 30th, 1979, by Harvest and
Columbia Records in the UK, ranking number three on the charts. It was released in the US on
December 8th, 1979, and topped the US charts for over fifteen weeks. Pink Floyd The Wall was a
concept album, telling a story throughout its tracks. This album had many mixed reviews by
critics because most hated it and grew to love it. The genre was a mix of rock opera, progressive
and art-rock. The first two months of its release sold over 1.2 million copies, making it one of the
best-selling double albums.
