A Dive into Digital Marketing
Marketing styles keep evolving with technology and the past few huge advancements
have open many new ways to promote products and services. To keep up with the increasing
possibilities digital marketing has to offer, both educational institutions and marketers need to
upgrade their knowledge often. The major advancements in technology have been smart phones
and other smart devices that people spend hours on each day. As these devices gained more
popularity, marketing strategies changed dramatically.
Technological advancements have made marketing teams be able to reach to anyone with
an internet service and a device. Not only has social media made marketing easier and quicker, it
has also proven its power to “make or break” a product. Though technology is very present in
many of our lives at the moment, education towards digital marketing is having a hard time
keeping up with the expanding field. According to “Teaching the Designer of Now: A New Basis
for Graphic and Communication Design Education”, new graphic designers aren´t taught skills
they need to match with the ones their new careers require (Cezzar, 2020). The same source

into a real-life setting without putting any patients in danger. While some higher education
institutions seem to struggle with technological advancements, all aspects of marketing keep
thriving.

changes within their marketing. The biggest change is shifting from television and radio towards
social media ads. According to Forbes.com, advertising in social media has become much of a
bigger project for companies rather than TV or radio (Gibbons, 2021). Social media has become
a great tool for marketing as they can reach much more audience, its often less expensive, and it
can be changed very quickly, meaning that companies can try out different approaches. For
example, many universities across the world have been advertising their courses and campus on
social media to gain more student body. This is also what Diana Prihadini suggested in that
universities do to help gain more money to cover for the expenses Covid-19 caused (2020). She
