A Discussion of Exposure Science in the 21st Century
This article discussed the current issue of some negative exposure (such as pollution) and
how it has affected our world in the 21st century. Authors Paul Lioy and Kirk Smith, explain and
elaborate on how the National Research Council committee will develop a long-range vision for
exposure science and a strategy with goals and objectives for implementing the vision over the
next 20 years, including a unifying conceptual framework for advancement of exposure science
to study and assess human and ecologic contact with chemical, biologic, and physical stressors in
their environments (Lioy and Smith, 2013). This will educate society on how to properly handle
issues dealing with exposure and how to properly research various exposure topics.
