A “Class Divided” Activity
1) How were the students divided up?
The students were divided up by eye color.
2) What was the purpose of this experiment?
The purpose of this experiment was to show her students what it would feel like to be judged by
the color of your skin.
3) How much of the instruction did the teacher give the students and how much did the kids make
up on their own? What sort of things did she say outwardly, what was implied, and what sorts
did the kids make upon their own?
