Unlike the majority of my peers, I actually do not want to own a private practice. My dream and
goal are to work in the Veterans Affairs Hospital while engaging in political lobbying to catalyze changes
in chiropractic coverage by Tricare. I also want to work towards piloting a chiropractor MOS for the
Navy, Marines, and Army. While working in the VA, I will be in an integrated environment where I can
focus on adjusting the patient and utilize numerous resources for referrals.
For my first year of practice I would just like to hone into my skills as a doctor and better my
encounters with patients. At 5 years, I hope to make headway with political lobbying and initiate Tricare
coverage of private chiropractic practices inside of a 50 mile radius from the nearest VA Hospital. At 10
years I hope to remove the Tricare clause stating that chiropractors need a referral from a VA MD and
enable VA chiropractors to be a PCP of their own right. I also hope to start the process of introducing
Chiropractor as an official MOS to the Navy, Marines, and Army by this time period.
