OSI Model
In computer networking there is a crucial thing to know and that is the OSI model. The
OSI model consists of seven layers. To understand the different issues that can arise in computer
networking you must understand the OSI model. The seven layers are Layer 7 the application
layer, layer 6 the Presentation layer, layer 5 the Session layer, layer 4 the transportation layer,
layer 3 the network layer, layer 2 the Data Link layer, and layer 1 the physical layer. All of these
layers work to separate networking into different areas. In the following we will look into each
layer and how it works and also the OSI model as a whole.
The OSI model as a whole is seven layers. The OSI model is defined as a networking
framework to implement protocols in layers, with control passed from one layer to the next
(Mitchell, 2018). It is mostly used as a teaching and training tool to better understand computer
