Hamlet the Drama Queen
Women have always been looked down to for different actions they have made,
such as remarrying; Why is that? It is probably because women who do such acts such a
remarrying are seen as people would say ‘Hoes’ or ‘Sluts’ but are their actions justified?
Hamlet a play written by the very well know William Shakespeare, is a about Hamlet
who is the main character. Who is out to seek revenge for his father who was poisoned.
His mother who is the Queen remarries, and she does not just remarry anyone but the
dead kings brother. In which Hamlet see’s as incest. During the Play Hamlet encounters
his fathers spirit. His fathers spirit tells him how he died and that he did not die
intentionally but rather was poisoned. He tells Hamlet to seek out his revenge and get his
brother to confess. Throughout the play Hamlet acts as if he were crazy, while other
noticed it. Then the king sent Hamlet to go out to England to go to hope that they would
kill him, but he was not. When Hamlet comes back and the king and Laertes, they both
plan to have it out for hamlet. They plan to kill him, aside from that they have different
planned ways of trying to kill Hamlet. Both the King and Laertes sharpen sword to kill
Hamlet but incase that did not work they added poison to the tip of it, and incase those
two did not work they decided to put poison in a cup that they planned to give him But

instead his mother too. Throughout the play Hamlet seems to look down on women
because of what his mother did, which was marrying the dead kings brother. During the
play Hamlet would tell Ophelia not to be like his mother and do. Back in the day women
where not able to show any type of independence and were rather seen as objects.
Hamlets mother had very good reasons for remarrying and Hamlet just a very high
standards for those times.
Hamlet’s time period was about from the 15th century, which yes, was a long time
ago but was also during that time period when men were the dominate ones in the
relationship, while women had to know ‘their place’ those time were very traditional.
