The buying process starts with problem recognition. This is when a buyer recognizes a
problem or need triggered by internal or external situations. Next the consumer starts an
information search of the product desired. This is when the consumer learns about competitors
and price range. Next the consumer has an evaluation of alternatives. Consumers weigh their
options and determine which product will best fulfill their needs. Next the consumer must make
a purchase decision. Many sub-decisions help assist consumers make the final decision. Things
like location, timing, and type of payment may factor their decision. Finally, the buying process
ends with the consumer having some type of post purchase behavior. This is the opinion every
consumer has after making a final purchase regardless if it’s good, or bad. Product development
plays a key role in affecting the buying process. Successful product development is what’s going
to separate a company from its competitors. I believe in the evaluation of alternative options is
where successful product development plays a crucial role. This is where it is imperative for a
company to have a distinct feature about their product that sticks out from other competitors. The
