Sixties songwriting moves past pop love tunes and starts to incorporate social awareness
and political proclamations. Later on, in the lasting half of the decade “psychedelic” music

of individuals. In the late sixties rock music celebrations began outside. The 1960’s were a period
of change in the public eye, design, mentalities and particularly music. In 1963 and the years to
take after, various social impacts changed what prevalent music was and brought forth the
different types of music that we incorporate in our lives every day. Motown began as a Detroit-
based record mark in the late fifties and mid-sixties. Motown records comprised for the most part
of African-American artists, vocalists, lyricists and administration and their musical interest and
business achievement demonstrated in separating the limitations of segregation and allowed
African-American artists and performers an odd to regain a significant part of the achievement
that had been credited to white “rock ‘n’ rollers” and pop craftsmen who had accomplishment in
singing “dark music” among the earlier decade. While rock and roll music entered the famous
music range in the 1950s, rock music truly made its mark in the 1960s. It overshadowed the
frequent music scene among the decade and as the music developed and changed, numerous
differing and new sub genres rose, all similar related to rock music yet each with their own one
of a kind style and reason. Another origin of current rock’n’roll, significant to the sound we
consider as 60’s rock, were, in the first place, the Blues. Blues started as the music of dark
colored farmers in the poor cotton-cultivating area of the Mississippi Delta as an escape, many of
them moved north looking for a better way of life.
