Statement of Purpose

I come from a small middle-class family where I am an only child. My mother, father, and
I moved to Waukesha, Wisconsin when I was seven years old. My father’s restaurant career had
required us to move quiet frequently. I was born in Layfette, Louisiana in 1984 right after the Los
Angeles Raiders defeated the Washington Redskins 38-9 in Super Bowl XVIII. My dad says the
doctors waited until the game was over to deliver me. From there we moved three or four more
times before staying here in Wisconsin. I had always dreamed of following in my father’s
footsteps and going to the University of Florida to be a Gator but my rebellious bad habits in high
school changed my future. I graduated from Waukesha West in 2002 and was convinced by my
