Homework 1
For this homework you will be using the OECDData.xlsx dataset found in the same folder. This
Excel dataset contains variables for 6 OECD countries between 2007 and 2013. In some years
values are missing for some countries. In this homework you will be answering the questions
using Excel to compute means, variances, medians, and reporting the results in proper table
format, and making graphs. This homework is due on Monday, September 23 via the Canvas
site portal.
Income and health are closely related, as healthy individuals are more able to receive education
and work full-time. At the same time, education and income allows individuals to receive more
and better quality health care, so the relationship is bi-directional. In some countries, however,
the difference between the high earners and low earners is greater. In this homework we will
work with reported health status and income to compare three countries – US, UK, and Sweden.
Notice that US is missing data from 2000-2006, so start all your analysis in 2007 for all
